On 26th March 2026, Her Excellency Mrs Sabah Zita Benson received executives of the Dagbon Union UK on a courtesy call at the Ghana High Commission. The visit offered an opportunity for the Union to formally introduce the Association, which was established in 2012 and officially registered in 2020.
With a membership of over 400, the Union is committed to promoting community support, preserving cultural heritage, and strengthening social cohesion. The executives also highlighted their ongoing projects in Ghana, including providing various forms of support, clothing, and educational materials to young people in Dagbon.
Her Excellency commended the Union for its impactful work, describing it as a strong reflection of the contribution of the Ghanaian diaspora, the ‘17th Region’. She encouraged their continued efforts, assured them of the Mission’s support, and advised Ghanaians in the United Kingdom to join recognised associations to strengthen unity and enable effective engagement with the Mission.
